News Post

Laura Liace

Hello Emerson Families!

I hope you are doing well and had a great week!

I want to take a moment to clarify an item shared in last week’s newsletter. I noted that students would transition from outdoors to indoors for lunch so as to provide six feet of social distancing.

I apologize for any confusion regarding the mentioning of six feet of social distancing, which is no longer a health requirement while outdoors. To share additional rationale, this decision resulted from collaboration with staff members here at Emerson after observing students at lunch outdoors and reviewing our lunch procedures.  After problem-solving this week with both parents and teachers, we believe that a temporary period of time indoors will provide the necessary opportunity to re-establish procedures and expectations for lunch. While weather permits, we plan to return to student lunch outdoors soon.

Thank you for your continued partnership and understanding of decisions made in the best interest of our students. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

This week, we have several exciting items to share including our October celebrations for respect and our incredibly popular PTA fall events!

Forward Together Plan

Throughout this pandemic, the health and safety of Elmhurst District 205 students and staff remain our highest priority. Elmhurst School District 205 has developed a comprehensive plan aligned to local, state and federal guidance. The Forward Together Plan for 2021-22 offers some frequently asked questions about the reopening of our schools, the District’s health and safety protocols; sanitation and ventilation mitigations and a Dashboard that presents COVID-19 metrics. As health information and related procedures change, we will continue to review and update the plan, as well as continue to monitor local health and safety metrics.
