Operations and Algebraic Thinking
  • Represent and solve problems involving addition and subtraction.
  • Understand and apply properties of operations and the relationship between addition and subtraction.
  • Add and subtract within 20.
  • Work with addition and subtraction equations.
Number and Operations in Base Ten
  • Extend the counting sequence.
  • Understand place value.
  • Use place value understanding and properties of operations to add and subtract.
Measurement and Data
  • Measure lengths indirectly and by iterating length units.
  • Tell and write time.
  • Represent and interpret data.

About Miss Ross

Hi Emerson Families! Thank you for sharing your firsties with me! Here is a little bit more about my education and teaching background. 

I have my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Elmhurst College with a minor in Reading Education.  Earlier this year, I finished earning my Masters in Reading!  In addition, I have my Reading Teacher and English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsements. 

This is my third year teaching 1st grade at Emerson.  Before joining Emerson, I had 2 consecutive 1-year leave covers teaching 2nd grade in District 200.  Prior to that, I taught extended-day kindergarten the second half of the 2013-2014 school year in District 89.
