We love celebrating birthdays in second grade!

Our school policy, however, does not allow food treats to be brought into the classroom. If your child would still like to bring in a treat, non-food items may be brought in. Examples include pencils, erasers, bookmarks, stickers, etc.

Everyday in second grade we enjoy a snack. Water bottles will be allowed as long as they do not become a distraction. Please encourage your student to bring in a healthy snack each day to enjoy as we work.

In READING, we are continuing to work on main idea, text features and nonfiction.  This month our reading challenge is a 20 book reading challenge.  As your child reads, challenge them to find some figurative language in their books.

In MATH,  we completed Module 7 and took our test.  Please watch for the test to come home this week.   We will begin Module 8 this week. To review what the module includes, go to the MATH page of this site and click on the parent letter.   At home, continue to have your child go on ZEARN to work on their math skills.  They can log on by going to the link on this site.  Then they should click on "sign in with google".  It will ask them for their email which is their login number plus  If your child does not know their login and password, please email me and I will send it to you.

In WRITINGwe completed our Opinion writing!!  For the last few weeks of school, the students will involve some free writing!  No more home journals are due!!
